The creek at the old border line (1816), Strassoldo, 2017
The creek is near the boundary stone of the old border between the Kingdom of Italy and Austria.
The boundary stone, which dates back to 1816, divided Illyria, a subdivision of the empire
Austrian, from the Lombardo Veneto Kingdom.
So, the village was in Illiria e it constituted the border with the Lombardo Veneto. In 1866, with the birth of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the village became the last outpost of the Hapsburg Empire.
The boundary stone marked the border with the Kingdom of Italy, which had just incorporated western Friuli.
